El nuevo Defender sólo se parece al clásico en el nombre y algunas líneas del diseño. Ahora es un coche caro, muchísimo más confortable y seguro y con el abundante equipamiento que se puede encontrar en otros modelos de Land Rover. En esencia, el nuevo Defender ya no es un Defender.
Hay tres versiones, todas con motor de seis cilindros, denominadas D200 (200 CV), D250 (249 CV) y D300 (300 CV). Estos motores van asociados a un sistema de hibridación ligera que les permite disponer del distintivo medioambiental ECO de la DGT.

The new Defender only resembles the classic in the name and some design lines. Now it is an expensive car, much more comfortable and safer and with the abundant equipment that can be found in other Land Rover models. In essence, the new Defender is no longer a Defender.
There are three versions, all with six-cylinder engines, called D200 (200 HP), D250 (249 HP) and D300 (300 HP). These engines are associated with a light hybridization system that allows them to have the ECO environmental badge from the DGT.
