El Wrangler es el todoterreno de la gama Jeep más apropiado para circular por zonas complicadas fuera del asfalto y el menos adecuado para viajar por carretera. Hay dos variantes de carrocería, de tres puertas (Wrangler) y de cinco puertas (Wrangler Unlimited), que se diferencian por la longitud —4,22 metros y 4,75 metros, respectivamente—, el espacio en las plazas traseras, la capacidad del maletero y el número de plazas: cuatro en el primer caso y cinco el segundo.
La versión «Rubicon» se distingue por estar especialmente preparada para una conducción por zonas abruptas. La variante «Sport», la de menor equipamiento, tiene el techo de lona aunque también se puede elegir con uno duro de plástico como el resto de la gama. Éste se puede desmonta, igual que las puertas.

The Wrangler is the most suitable off-road vehicle in the Jeep range for driving in difficult off-road areas and the least suitable for road travel. There are two body variants, three-door (Wrangler) and five-door (Wrangler Unlimited), which differ in length (4.22 meters and 4.75 meters, respectively), space in the rear seats, trunk capacity and the number of seats: four in the first case and five in the second.
The "Rubicon" version is distinguished by the fact that it is specially prepared for driving in rough terrain. The "Sport" variant, the least equipped, has a canvas roof, although it can also be chosen with a hard plastic roof like the rest of the range. This can be removed, as can the doors.
