The Fiat 1100/103 E TV Desirée by Vignale was exhibited at the Turin Motor Show in 1956 on the Vignale stand. This extremely rare model, of which only three examples were built (!), was the magnificent example of the masterful design of the Italian coachbuilders in the fifties. This special Fiat was designedby Giovanni Michellotti and Vignale Coachworks took care of the bodywork. It was aptly named 'Desirée' because of the 'Turismo Veloce' specification. These were the most performant and sporty variants at the time.
This rare car was equipped in the Fiat Special Race Department with a large 1089 cc four-cylinder engine, which delivers a power output of 50 hp compared to the 40 hp of the standard engine thanks to a higher compression ratio and a special 36 DCL D3 Weber carburetor. This Fiat engine is coupled to a four-speed gearbox.
"Collection by Vermant" is pleased to offer you this very rare Fiat 1100 TV Desirée Vignale. This Fiat 1100 was purchased by its first owner at the Vignale stand in 1956 in its current colour combination of two-tone silver/black. In 2008 it was completely restored, but its origin was preserved. This Vignale remained in his possession until 2014. Then it came into the hands of an Italian collector who sold it in 2017 to the well-known American collector Robert Pass. He exhibited in 2018 at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, where he won his category. In addition to participating in the Amelia Island Concours, this Vignale was also invited to participate in the renowned Pebble Beach Concours. However, the car was sold before it had the chance to be exhibited there.
Since this Vignale is based on a Fiat 1100 TV chassis and engine, it is also Mille Miglia Eligible, which is a great asset for this charming Fiat! After the period in the United States, the car returned to Europe and eventually ended up in Belgium. There, the car was completely checked by the current owner and also exhibited at the Antwerp Concours d'Elegance, where this time also a prize was won, the 'International Jury Prize'.
This exceptionally rare Fiat 1100/103 E TV Desirée by Vignale Coupé is a feast for the eyes with its two-tone interior combination and with a Condor radio, which matches the beautiful exterior. It is equipped with two sets of wheels, being the original steel wheels and the Borani wire wheels used at the events. He comes with a Belgian registration!
This Desirée Vignale is a unique opportunity to add a very rare car to your collection, with some very attractive assets (Mille Miglia, Amelia Island Concours, Pebble Beach Concours, ...) and which does not look out of place at the best competitions in the world. In short, this unique and super rare Fiat 1100 TV Desirée Coupé is a mix of the Italian masterpiece with driving characteristics that are true to its time.
