Story
The Ferrari 308 series was first introduced in 1975 as the Ferrari 308 GTB (Gran Turismo Berlinetta), with the GTS (Gran Turismo Spider) version arriving two years later in 1977.
The 308 series was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti at Pininfarina, the renowned Italian design house behind many of Ferrari's most legendary cars.
With the GTS, Ferrari added the option for a removable targa-style roof, making it popular among those who wanted the thrill of a convertible with the rigidity of a coupe.
Aesthetically, the Ferrari 308 GTS stood out for its sleek, angular shape, wedge-like stance, and pop-up headlights, which gave it a futuristic look that has aged well over the years.
The “targa” roof was a major attraction, allowing drivers to enjoy open-top driving when desired. Inside, the cockpit was
driver-centric, with analog gauges, classic switchgear, and a gated shifter, adding to the car's character and driving appeal.
The 308 GTS gained widespread fame in the 1980s when it became the signature car of Tom Selleck's character, Thomas Magnum, in the
popular television series Magnum.
For many fans, the sight of Selleck cruising through Hawaii in the Ferrari 308 helped cement the car as a symbol of style, adventure, and success.
This exposure also boosted Ferrari’s brand appeal, especially in the American market, where viewers were captivated by the car’s exotic flair.
Any more pictures, under the car, video calling, do not hesitate.
